The community

The community contains trustworthy, experienced individuals interested in using their skills and resources to help achieve grand dreams making their lives and the world better.

Individuals have a wealth of experience with backgrounds in engineering, law, architecture, finance, sales and marketing, research and education, and many others.

The community supports projects ranging from hobbies like maker-projects such as building electric hydrofoils and furniture to life-style businesses like bed-n-breakfasts or eco-friendly real estate investment trusts… and many more.

How it works

You say what you are interested in, what you know how to do, and what you have. Not a CV — a handful of words. Woodworking. Contract law. A workshop with a lathe in it.

FCR introduces you to the people and Groups that fit. Everything on the site is matched on those words, so the more honestly you fill them in, the better it works.

Groups are where things actually happen. A Group might be a business, a hobby project, a holiday, a club or a one-off event. It has members, a plan, and — if it wants one — a way of recording who contributed what.

Work that needs paying for goes to the Job Board, where any member can offer to help. Work done inside a Group earns equity instead.

Rolling equity

The intent of the site is to have people work together to achieve a goal. In a capitalistic society, money is used to bring people together to achieve common goals.

However for individuals trying to achieve a goal, money is often the major constraining factor in achieving a goal. To overcome money constraints, the site uses the concept of “rolling equity”.

For rolling equity, instead of being paid in money, individuals receive equity in the project for their contributions to the project. If an individual does $1,000 of work, the individual receives $1,000 of equity. So if the total equity of the project is $10,000 dollars, the individual owns 10% of the equity of the project.

As a project progresses and additional people contribute, the project’s overall equity increases, hence the term rolling equity.

Each project provides details as to what equity in a project provides to contributors.

FCR keeps that record for you. Every contribution is written to the Group’s ledger when the work is approved, and every member can see where they and everybody else stand.

Invitation only

FCR is invitation-only. There is no sign-up. Everybody here was invited by somebody already in the community, which is what keeps it a group of people who know each other rather than an audience.

If you were invited, the email has your link. If you have been here before, sign in below.

That address is not on the member list, so there is no account to sign in to. FCR is a private community for friends and family — there is no sign-up, and everybody here was invited by somebody already in it.

If you were expecting to be here, the invitation email has your link — it may be under a different address from the one you just tried. If somebody you know is a member, ask them to invite you.
